I'll let you in on a little secret: there are over 100 tracks of my violin on A Love Song!
I have listened to this Balun record the most of anything I've ever recorded. The string arrangements, done by the fierce front woman Angélica Negrón are so imaginative and gorgeous! El Espanto is my fav so I'm linking to that but check out the whole record at balunonline.com It's so great!
Beyoncé is hands down the most professional badass lady I've ever worked with. The week we spent recording the 4 Live at Roseland video album with an all female band was unforgettable!
Of all the albums I've gotten to work on, I feel the most honored to have recorded on this last album of Gil Scott-Heron. What an incredible human.
What could be more fun than an album full of Max Martin tunes?! We love playing them every night on Broadway!
Rinde Eckert, Steven Mackey, Jason Treuting, and Mark Haanstra are some of the most creative people I know. It is such an honor to be a part of this record.
What an honor to get to work with legend John Kander, and the super talented Lin Manuel-Miranda
In this charming movie about the quirky world of art, I got a chance to play in one of the silly concert scene sequences, which then made it onto the soundtrack.
Gramercy Arms is a revolving NYC-based collective of musicians and artists. That in itself is why I love being based in NYC! I'm thrilled to have been invited to be a part of this project!
Natasha Kermani's debut feature film has a gorgeous soundtrack that was super fun to collaborate on. Side note, Natasha has amazing hair at all times and so she also hipped me to her hair girl, also a Natasha, owner of Triple Crown Salon in Brooklyn, and I've been a loyal customer ever since.
We were all so proud to be a part of this 2021 grammy winning album!
Steven Van Zandt was epic to work with on this project. There's nothing else to say here.
MEJ is one of my favs, as is her gorgeous tune Hold Still. She allowed me to put a bit of my own self into this song, in writing and performing the string arrangement. We love how it turned out and hope you do too!
Erin McKeown and Quiara Alegría Hudes hit it out of the park with this show about the joy, love and frustration of being a family in a changing country. We performed at NYC's The Public Theater, one of my favorite venues in the city, due to its commitment to showcasing the works of up-and-coming playwrights and performers. I got to play viola on this show, which is one of my secret loves!
83 pop songs in one show. Nothing could be more fun!
Another gorgeous score by composer Angelica Negrón that I had the joy of working on. Check her out, she's really special!
These were fun sessions with Atlanta based singer-songwriter Sarah Miles!
It was super fun to help the the producers craft the violin lines on She Wolf. She Wolf was also the first song I recorded on that I then heard on the radio. Radios themselves are somewhat vintage these days (haha!), but hearing yourself over the speakers in your favorite coffee shop is a pretty amazing feeling!
I couldn't be prouder to be on this album of the classic JCS with an all female cast, band, and production team.
This album, produced to raise money to help reunite families separated at the border, is as gorgeous as the support is crucial. Click the album cover for link to purchase.
Sarah Kirkland Snider writes hauntingly gorgeous music and this record was an inspiration to record!
It was such an honor, and a total blast to work on this project with the always inspirational Tom Kitt!
A staple of the NYC cabaret scene, Celia is one of the most lovely artists I've had a chance to collaborate with. Her debut album was such a blast to record!
We recorded these string parts (yours truly on violins & viola, and Eleanor Norton on cello) from our home studios during the pandemic and could not have had a better time with this hilarious song!
We could not have had a better time recording and performing live with this project for William Brittelle. The music just puts you in a good mood immediately!
